So today was my day off, as it usually is on thursdays. And now that Wim is working again and even has a long day of work on thursdays it means that these days will be spend as me-time, relaxing, grocery shopping, working on side projects,… the things you do when the boyfriend isn’t around. Kind of like every Thursday was before I met Wim
Today was a busy day though… I woke up early to finish some cleaning up as my new dryer would be delivered in the morning.
Around 10.30 the lift arrives, as big things need to be delivered trough my window because of the very small spinal stairs, and after about 20 minutes of waiting the dryer finally arrives, and luckily all goes well.
New Miele dryer, check.
Side note: I’m on a train at the moment, and there are three old men in my carriage, and they’re annoyingly loud. Kids yesterday, old people today, and then people tell me I’m wrong when I tell them that those two groups of people should be abandoned from eyesight…
Anyway, so after the dryer got delivered I for some reason decided that it should be in a different spot than I originally intended. Which resulted in me moving all the furniture again. At first so I could clean and mop behind them, but when I honestly look back at it it was the interior designer bitch that lives inside me that was on the loose again.
A couple of hours, and lots of moving and cleaning, later I noticed I had missed my train.
I had arranged to meet Anne in Antwerp for Starbucks at 4. It was 3.50. That was a problem.
I notified her of my delay and jumped into the first pair of shoes I could find, ran to the train station, and arrived in Antwerp at 4.30. Only half an hour late, score!
I hate running late, but seeing Anne again made me forget about it. Hugs and Starbucks later all was epic happy times, and then Wim told me he was on his way.
For those who haven’t noticed, I’m kinda addicted to my boyfriend. And I hadn’t seen him for almost two days, which is relatively long, given that we’ve been seeing each other almost daily for the past month or so.
So Anne and I head to the Melkmarkt, where we sit down on the terrace of The Muse and where Wim joins us minutes later. Hunger is rising though and we go on a hunt for food, which we found on the Groenplaats.
Anne then left us, and Wim and I headed to ‘t Zuid because tomorrow morning Wim is leading a group of kids around ‘t Zuid in a scavenger hunt, and he wanted to try the directions to make sure it’s all clear.
About an hour later and a lovely walk trough Antwerp with my boy in hand we finished the tour and agreed that it was clear and would be no problem for the kids tomorrow. Yay for combining fun things with productive things
After that we returned to Antwerp Central, where he took the metro to his car and I took the train home. Due to his early rise because of the scavenger hunt he’s not staying the night… /insert sadface. He will tomorrow though, and me likey

And by now I’m home, and I’m glad my day went so well.
I didn’t make it to the hair dresser though, will need to do that soon. I also need to get me a new pack of trash bags. But yeah, I need to do more stuff too… /ignores huge to do list.

Questions of the day:
- How often do you move furniture?
- Have you ever done a scavenger hunt?
- How big is your to do list?

It’s September 1st and I’m on my way to work.
It’s also been a while since I last updated. But that’s not the point.
The point is that on September 1st, school starts again. So guess what surrounds me right now?
Right. Way too much excited noisy irritating kids.
On the one hand they bug me. On the other hand, can you blame them? Weren’t we all loud and excited when the new school year started and we got to see our classmates again? I wasn’t but I can imagine lots of people to be. You know, people without a social life online that depend on shallow appreciation from their fellow minors.
Drifting again.
While looking at these hordes of underage munchkins I tend to wonder about things. Things like… did we all dress up as slutty back in the day? Did my female companions at the age of 12 wear that much makeup? Did we care as much about being noticed as the random guys that are now jumping like monkeys with diarrhea around some girls at the bus stop?
When I look back on myself and my first school days they were mostly started without a thrill, I never liked school and always just went there because I had to. School is important, I know that, and I knew that too back in the day, so I always put in just enough effort to get trough the days. I was not there to make friends, people there were mere acquaintesses (i know I wrote that the wrong way probably, but I can’t be bothered to look it up, tell me in the comments how to write it please.) that were forced upon me by the power of random selection of an ancient school computer.
Don’t get me wrong, I had good times at school, especially in basic school (-12yrs), and in the end a few of my acquaintesses (there we go again.) have actually turned into friends. Very few, but more than I anticipated back then. Unless you count Facebook friends, then I have quite a lot still. But who counts those… lol.
Wow, I feel like I’ve been drifting away from the topic I had in my mind when I started writing this again.
Oh yes, loud children on first school days bug me.

Question time!
- what do you remember of your first school days?
- how many Facebook ‘friends’ do you have?
- do kids bug you on the first day of school?

It’s just been… life. As we know it.

What has happened lately?
Well, let’s do this in bullet points, shall we?

- I got my temporary drivers license.
- I got myself a car, it has wheels, it’s an Audi, and I learned that it apparently has oil inside of it that needs refilling once in a while.
- I’ve been enjoying myself at work in Wetteren a lot
- I eat way too much fast food at work, which I’ve been trying to compensate with eating uberhealthy at home.
- I’ve finally been making progress in launching the book that I wrote, so it should be released soon, despite already being finished for over half a year.
- I’ve spent tons of time with friends going out drinking.
- Justin came from Cracksonville to visit me and we did a little tour-of-flanders while he was here.
- I also made him drink. Beer.
- Eric visited, which was nice.
- I failed at seeing Paul when he was in Brussels, which totally sucked.
- I went to see Lady Gaga in concert in Antwerp and it was amazing.
- I’m loving all movies in 3D.
- Toy Story 3 is epic.
- I’m excited for Summer In The City in a week and a half.
- I’ve done some lovely #mysterythings lately that i’ll reveal soonish.
- I’ve spent a lot of time with my best friend Tom the past months, which has been a lot of fun since he’s one of my oldest friends and it’s been a while since we were so close. Reconnecting ftw.
- I went to the Ros Beiaard in Dendermonde, which was lots of fun even though I still don’t get the complete story behind the tale that it’s about. I loved my interpretations of the story though.
- I tweeted like crazy again during the Eurovision Song Contest, and tons of people seemed to enjoy it again, so just like the past two years I’ll be doing so again next year.
- I live tweeted the final in the World Cup as well, without knowing a thing about soccer, which was very funny. Apparently.
- And there’s prolly a shitload of stuff that I’ve forgotten, but whatever

I love and adore you all
And especially you.

So I went to the Notre Dame de Paris musical in Antwerp Thursday evening… And I must say, it was just okay.

Let’s start of with explaining that this Flemish version was a simple copy of the French version… Both in costumes, setting as in text… and that translation was at times very poorly done. Due to the odd translating of things it became pretty dubious sometimes what was actually being meant in the songs, resulting in people sometimes losing track of the story.

Also, there is no way Le Temps Des Cathedrales will ever be translated in an equally powerful version… The french version of that song is just way too epic on its own.

But let’s forget about the fact that this poor copy of the French version was shown and look at the musical itself.

Many people expect the Disney story, but the musical is based on the original story by Victor Hugo, which is pretty different from the sugar coated Disney remake… Causing people to be confused during the musical and not really getting what was going on. A delight to see for people like me who know the actual story, but a sad misconception that could have been made more clear by the press in my opinion.

This story tells you the tale of the invasion of the spiritual church and its care for the lower class citizens and haven of peace by the higher classes and the state as a power entity… With Esmeralda being the seduced lower class bohemian that entails with the higher class, therefor messing with ‘fate’ as the higher class sees it, and Quasimodo being the ‘hope’ that fails at bringing Esmeralda back on the right path. The story ends with only Quasimodo (the Hope, though weakened), Phoebus (the High Class, though broken) and Gringoire (the Low Class, though overthrown) alive, with the church overtaken by the government and freedom for all in doubt. A way heavier story than most people get after seeing the musical, mainly due to the wrong perspective on the story caused by the Disney version as well as the oddly translated lyrics at times.

Now, if there’s one thing I really want to put out there it’s that singers are not musical artists. They hardly ever are. I know it’s great to headline two popular singers, but when they suck at doing musicals you’re pretty much doomed. Gene Thomas for instance plays Quasimodo, but lacks power and drive in his voice, resulting in a very weak and unbelievable Quasimodo. He basically sucked ass. Really. He was bad. Sandrine as Esmeralda was actually good at times, if she was standing still and singing alone so you couldn’t compare her with others. Please don’t let her dance and sing at the same time, because the strength of her voice fades away very easily then. Also, having her duet with Jorien Zeevaart, who plays Fleur-De-Lys and completely overpowers Sandrine’s voice, makes it very clear that she does not have a musical voice. She’s a great singer, but not a musical voice.
It’s painful when you have to sit trough a whole musical where the musical skills are so obviously different between the main characters.

Credit where credit is due though, the musical-focused people like Tim Driesen (Phoebus), Clayton Peroti (Clopin) and Wim Vanden Driessche (Frollo) were great! They lifted the complete show to an enjoyable level and were a blessing to see and hear.
Also lots of credit to the dancers, who were phenomenal at times… Acrobats inc. They made this show worthwhile.
Best moments of the show included the act with the bells and the Déchiré act (I already forgot what they translated that too… Torn apart I guess) with the five dancers in the background. Both acts where it were the dancers that made it such amazing scenes.

What I also found a bit of a downer, but this was already something that bothered me slightly in the French version, was the clothes… They were often too bland. The difference between people was sometimes even hard to notice, and Phoebus’ costume made him actually look equally poor as Gringoire, if not more poor. I know the economy is hard on all of us, but when already using a rather minimal set, please stand out with good costumes that speak for themselves rather than confuse people who are already having a little bit of trouble following the storyline they didn’t really expect.

Okay, I’ve been pretty harsh about this musical, and it might seem like it’s a bad musical, but it really isn’t. It’s actually okayish-good.

Big points go to dancers, acrobats, trained musical artists, as well as the great original tale of the Notre Dame.
Big fail marks go to the poor translation and wrong choice of choosing singers over musical artists.

Should you go see it? Sure, if you want a fun night out. As long as you don’t expect to be wowed.
It’s good… but it’s not mesmerizing.

As a final point I will say that I personally don’t really like translations of great musical, literary, or visual arts… and well, I guess this musical proved it to me once again. If you’ve been to the musical, check out the French soundtrack… you’ll be amazed. If you haven’t gone to the musical but plan to go… don’t check out the French soundtrack yet, or you’ll sing along in a different language in your head.

Fun night out, but I wasn’t impressed. Better luck next time Music Hall.

I recently finished reading David Levithan’s Boy Meets Boy, so I thought I’d quickly share my thought on it, you know, as kind of a little review

First and foremost, it’s a good book. It’s not an earth shattering experience, but it’s a good book. If you like a light read.

You see, the book is not as light a read as your classic train station travel romance book, but it’s no Looking For Alaska either. It’s somewhere in between…

The plot lines are pretty obvious, and yes it’s a gay story *woohoo, burn down the house people* but when it all comes down to it, it’s a pretty traditional story line.

Boy meets boy, ex boyfriend shows up, friends don’t approve, friendship under pressure, all ends well. I’m pretty sure you’ve read a story like this before… If you can read of course. And no, that’s not offensive because people who actually can’t read don’t know I made this snarky remark just now.

It might seem now that I didn’t really like the book, but I actually really do… Although it might be such a ‘traditional’ book, it manages to capture you and take you along the journey of Paul (the main character), something that’s not all that easy when it comes to traditional story lines.

The book is written in a very active manner, which engages you as the reader to keep on turning them pages, and hey, isn’t that what books are made for? Ebooks aside of course.

When it comes to characters, Paul is in my opinion not the most notable one – although he’s the main character – but Kyle is. This might seem a bit weird, since Kyle is a side character – the ex boyfriend – but it’s his emotional process that glues the different parts of the story together. Which is good, because sometimes the story tends to get a bit too mushy-mushy and that’s when Kyle comes in. I guess going a bit more in depth with the side characters would have been a good thing, as it is sometimes a bit unclear why certain people do certain things (e.g. Amber calling Tony for Paul, even though they don’t know each other at all) and it’s times like that that the reason ‘but Paul is popular and everyone kinda likes him’ falls a bit short… Same goes for the school scenes where Paul seems to run the school, even though he’s just a sophomore. It just doesn’t make sense at times… if you try to read between the lines.

So in conclusion, should you read this book?

Yes, you should, if you like an easy-to-read book that’s engaging without going too literary on you, and you don’t mind the gay-themed storyline.
No, if you expect more from a book than a simple storyline where you don’t need to think things through twice.

Would I recommend it? I actually would, because we can all use that easy-read from time to time, be it during lunch break, or while lying in the sun.

I’ve always been the type of person to look past the most obvious and think further. Or look further. When the simple things are just what they sometimes are… simple. Now, I won’t elaborate on that, because the only thing that I wanted to derive from this is that I like the difficult things… usually. Or that’s at least what tends to attract me.

The past weeks I’ve been attracted to such a difficult situation again. And I’m loving it. It’s not easy, it involves effort, and if there’s one thing I’m not afraid of, it’s putting in effort when I really want something.

I’m sure you want to know all about The Situation, and with this I tend to be going all @hayleyghoover, but time will tell. Let’s just keep it at the fact that I’m enjoying it very much, and that it does me good.

In other news, driving lessons! Five years after having been driving for a year and a half I’m at it again, and this time I’m enjoying it way more than I was back in the day. So I’m pretty confident this time. The fact that my instructor is a rich bitch elitist snob is even more of a positive thing, I adore her so much. She’s amazingly funny. But so correct at the same time, I’m really learning a lot

So yeah, those are going good, so I expect to be driving around at the end of this month, if all goes according to plan that is. Next week I’ll be signing and paying for my car, which I have not named yet so feel free to leave suggestions in the comments, so that’ll be money spent as well.

I don’t like spending money on things like this.

In a way it feels like I’ve set myself back four years again… Moneywise. But yeah, I guess it’s spend wisely with this whole car-stuff thing :p Still, it’s never fun to see savings going away. They’ll grow again, in a while. Fingers crossed

My mother is coming over tomorrow, I got some catalogs for her, so I guess I better get back to cleaning a bit more… Not that it’s dirty here or anything, but there’s once again a way too big a pile of clothes to wash and iron… Maybe I just own too many of them :p

See you later bitches ^^

People on busses are so weird… I’ve been paying a lot of attention to human behaviour since I’m travelling to work so long every day and it’s so apparent.
People like to be on their own, unless they travel in group they’re very individual and don’t mind others. This is where the bus changes things slightly.
I sit in the same spot on my bus everyday, yesterday i was annoyed because I wasn’t first on my bus so someone had already taken my spot, and from that seat I have a perfect view on everyone.
The thing I notice everyday is that whoever gets in the bus first -after me since I’m usually first since I’m always way too early :p- always heads for the four-seater. There are two-seaters and four-seaters on the bus.
Mind you that the ones heading for those big spots are the individuals.
Then after a couple of halts all the seats in the bus are taken by at least one person so whoever gets on the bus next will have to share a seat.
And here’s where it gets stupid. Everyone that gets on that bus next does one of two things… they either stand up because they’re so individual that they don’t want to share a seat, or they go straight for the four-seaters. Yup, the one spot that first individual choose when it still had the whole bus to pick from.
And then that individual obviously gets annoyed because they have to move their feet or bags that they strategically placed quite wide so nobody would share their four-seater.
It’s rather funny to see it happen, especially when you’re smart enough to pick a two-seater when you get on the bus that nobody ends up sharing.
Ahh the annoyment of the individual that hoped to be smart and pick a big spot… every day you amuse me :p

So I’m doing a massive spring cleaning session this week. Yes, I’ve already been cleaning for 5 days. If you know my apartment it’s hard to envision that, but I’m cleaning like crazy and throwing out loads of things.

Now, when you clean out and go trough old stuff, it often happens that you stumble upon things from the past that make you think…
I stumbled upon a little black book, in which I apparently had written about things that had happened that week. I used to have tons of diaries just randomly eating dust in my room. I would start one, then be over it a couple of days later, and a few months after that start a new one. There are 4 days in this one.

While I’ve ignored most of the ones I found during my cleaning session, I somehow decided to read this one. And I must say even though it’s a fragment of my life during my tougher years – I was just scraping myself together again out of a big hole of misery and depression – it’s still apparent now, be it in a completely different way.

Here’s the segment… (I changed the names into random letters because the names of the people in this segment don’t really matter.)

“Why can’t amazing things last? Why is it that there’s always a reason that makes things difficult? I had an amazing end of the week.
On Friday I went to Antwerp with Y., which was very fun. To end that day I went for dinner with Q., and we went for cocktails afterwards. It was a brilliant night, really.
I then decided to visit Z. for the weekend, hopped on the train for over 4 hours, due to missed connections, and ended up having a brilliant weekend.
I spent way too much money, got overly tipsy, but had a blast.
Waking up in someones arms felt great, regardless of the fact that it was just waking up. Nothing had happened during the night, we were both too wasted. Nothing needed to happen actually, since that would make things difficult when there was no reason at all to add such a factor.
And now I’m on my way home again, and I feel lost.
I already miss everyone I had an amazing time with, random dutch people and fun friends.
I don’t feel bad really, I just realize that when I get home I’ll be all alone again. Away from my friends, just me.
And in the end I shouldn’t feel bad about that. I love myself and my life. It’s just sad that fun times always have to end.
New fun things need to be done now, but ah well…
I’m drifting away.
Let’s just conclude that I had an amazing time. I love my friends and wished that I had them with me all the time.
Monday is working time again… Le sigh.”

Now, this might not seem all that special, but to me it’s so clear that I was trying to talk myself into positivity. Focus myself on the fact that I could have fun times with friends. That I had friends. But in between the lines the darkness of that period still lingers.

It doesn’t affect me anymore, since I’ve moved on, and became a much stronger person now than I was back in the day.
The thing that is still apparent though is the fact that there’s one thing in my life that I will always have a hard time with.
My closest friends live far away.
And I know that might be a blessing and a curse at the same time… but sometimes I just wished I could just as easily hug them.

I love my life, I honestly do, no dark sublines there. And I’ve grown. But damn, distance can be a bitch sometimes.

Oh, and I found another random note in the little book… It gives a better perspective on the period I was in I guess… Trying to fight my way out of the downwards spiral, but sometimes still slipping downwards.

“Trainride.

Slowly moving scenery.
Book lost and found.
Starbucks bill.
Virginia import.
The world on wheels.
Captured in a moment.
Remembered by nobody.
Drive bitch drive.
Damn.
Connection lost.”

After reading it again a few times now, that little poem actually isn’t all too bad. It just had and still has so many more meanings than it has on first sight.

And it makes me damn proud of myself. *smirk*

Question: Would you like me to do more ‘blasts from the past’ posts? Let me know via comment, twitter, im or mail. Or whichever way you prefer.

So apparently it’s already March. Well, almost halfway March really, and that means I’ve abandoned you for way too long again little blog.

What has happened lately? Let’s see…

I’ve started my new function as Assistant Manager in the store in Wetteren. It’s going really well, I’m enjoying it very much, and find myself growing more and more along the way. Mentally that is, physically I’m still my lovely little self

The new function includes a daily travel of 4-5 hours – depending on which train I can catch. It’s more exhausting and time consuming than I thought in the beginning, but I don’t mind it. It is frustrating on the other hand to notice my to-do-list getting bigger and bigger again every day because after my daily travels I’m pretty tired and therefor am sleeping way more than I used to.

I’m not too worried with the exploding to-do-list though, because in April my driving lessons start, and by the end of April I should be allowed to drive my own car. I still need to buy myself a car, but at least there’s a positive progression on that front. Yay for finally making that driver’s license work (and yes, I signed up for lessons in January… There was a bloody long waiting list.)

On the fun front, I went to the Lights/Owl City concert in Brussels along with Manuel and Heleen, and it was lots of fun! Thanks again to Mathias for making sure I made it to Brussels <3
Lights was actually better than Owl City for me, I don’t really know why, but I found her more engaging and really fell for her performance. Go check out her music, she’s awesome!

Concertwise there’s a big one coming up soon too! I’m going to Lady Gaga in May with Jeewo and Manuel, and a very special guest…

Justin is going to come visit me in May – and will be going along to Lady Gaga – and I’m excited for it It’s going to be great hanging out with an American again, they are such a delightful little race. lmao.

I’m also going to the the Hunchback of the Notre Dame, the musical, in Antwerp in April, along with Wim, Ann and Heidi. Maybe more people are going, I don’t remember. I believe Jorgos was coming too. Whatever. Time will tell and I can’t be bothered to check

Last weekend Dimitri, Stephanie, Heidi, Kristof and I went for Japanese food Not take-away, but proper Japanese food. Made in front of our eyes while we were wearing delightfully colored robes. Skippy the bush kangaroo got fiercely killed and munched on by us, and damn is kangaroo yummy!

A few weeks ago I had a fondue evening with a bunch of friends too at Koen and Sofie’s place, and that was fun as well. Lots of drinks, but also lots of fun dancing Dance games with a dance mat are not easy. At expert level. They’re super fun though Wii funtimes are the best :p

Sofie, Koen and I went for to a Chinese restaurant the week I left my previous store as well, and that was fun as well. I like my friends. I needed that evening just as much as Koen needed it. As closure.

And closure there certainly was on the last day of work in the Sint Niklaas store. It was a horrible day for me. A great day, but horrible as well. I had so much trouble letting go, and I completely broke down in tears that night when we went out, but one thing was obvious once again… I have the most amazing people in my life. And I adore them.

Especially since I got to sleep over at one of them’s place, because I had lost my keys. Well, not lost technically, they were just in someone’s car. Someone that wasn’t at the party anymore. Oops. We picked them up in the morning though. Yay for early sunday mornings :p

I had lost my keys again a week or two after that… Well, I had left them on my front door all day… Luckily nothing got stolen and they were still hanging there when I got home

Oh, and I met up with Anne again in January as well, she came to Sint Niklaas and we had funtimes She’s a pokemon master. Just saying. Even with bloody pokemon she doesn’t know.

What else… I think I’ve covered almost everything…

I had a lovely Valentine’s evening hugging with a dear friend of mine. No better way to spend it than with people you care for (yes, I’m still single, there was nothing Valentine related, it just happened to be February 14th that day XD)

Furthermore, i’m feeling great, healthy, and although my huge to-do list is lingering over me I’m positively motivated and am rocking my world.

Live life, love life.

And p.s. I adore you. and you. and you. Yup, you too.

So remember when I last updated? Yeah, me neither
Anyway, life has been crazy, so let’s just quickly take a look at what’s been occupying me.
As you might know, me and a friend of mine made a children’s book. I wrote it, she drew the illustrations. It’s finished, and was supposed to be released by December 09 but with crazy busyness at work I postponed the release. I will announce a big release soon. So look forward to that.
December has been the month of work… I’ve worked full days until January 10th, which was very tiresome but rewarding as well… I love the insanity of December
Of course there was also Christmas and New Years but those days were pretty numb, given the tiredness. I went to the family for Christmas and fell asleep on New Years. Good times. Lol.
Then January came and sales period commenced… which is lovely if you’re into self destruction after working during the holiday season. Just kidding, of course I love it. Stress is fun!
I did notice that age becomes a factor in life during such workathon, and I’m tired a bit faster than I used to.
And then, right when the busiest period of January is finished, comes another whirlwind. I like flying.
A promotion comes up, and on February 1st I will no longer work in our shop in Sint Niklaas, for I will become assistant manager in Wetteren. A challenge, but one I’m happy to take and fully committed to making it succeed.
This change in life brings a whole new set of factors along, not only am I unsure of when i’ll have time off, it’s also a distance I now have to travel. For now I will be doing my hour-and-a-half travel by public transport, but I definitely need to work on my drivers license too now. And buy a car… ugh, I don’t like things that cost money.
Well, I do, since I love shopping, but I don’t like sudden costs that eat up my whole budget. Thankfully I’ve been budgetting rather well since I got back from the US so…
In between all those crazy things I’m finally getting my social life back again as well, not in huge amounts but in amounts I really needed. I had a lovely dinner with Sara yesterday, just like the old days when she lived a street away, and for the upcoming weeks I know there are going to be even more epic sexytiemz with Anne, Mathias, Tom,… I’m pretty booked the upcoming weeks but I like it.
Also, I really need a massage, my neck and shoulders are hard as concrete and have been hurting a lot lately. Any volunteers?
Voila, I think this has quickly updated you… typing on my Hero (yes my iPhone finally broke down after its crash in the beginning of December) isn’t going as quickly as typing on the computer but hey, its a blog at least!
Talk to you soon bitchez! X.

Merry Christmas or whatever holiday you enjoy to celebrate during this time of the year!
I had a great day today, even though I’ve been feeling sick and exhausted all day. Yes, a great day, with my family.
Apparently there have been some misconceptions in the past when I talk about my family, and I would just like to point out that they’re not bad people, they’re not evil, they’re just… my family.
Me and my family have had our differences in the past, we’ve gone trough multiple misunderstandings, and we don’t connect on a deep typical family level… But in the end they’re still my family. And they’re great in their own odd way.
I know I often talk about how friends are the family one chooses, and real family is just that… That doesn’t mean I don’t like my family, it just means I connect better with my friends, which is not weird since I talk with them way more than with my family. Is that wrong? No it isn’t. It’s just the way it is.
Whenever I’m with the family I generally have a good time, I might not express that as much as when I have a bad moment in life, but in the spirit of Christmas I’d like to point that out.
So yeah, I hope you all had a great Christmas, I know I had a good day… With my family, which will always be just that… My family, weirdness inc.

You: O hai random stranger!
Stranger: ohhh my goodness
Stranger: see, this meeting was destined by the gods
You: Was it?
Stranger: yeah, of course
You: The gods must be happy then, sending me a non-random person
Stranger: well, i dunno .. how random can predestination be
You: I’m already happy you didn’t shout something about elephants
Stranger: and i’m glad i didn’t ask you to make me a sammich
You: I wouldn’t do that, there are slaves for things like that ^^ lol
Stranger: oh of course
Stranger: my slaves
Stranger: why didnt i think of that
You: because they’re a habit?
Stranger: they’re gonna need scarificing to the gods soon anyway
Stranger: i shouldn’t get too attached
You: Never attach to the disposable lol.
Stranger: disposable slavery
Stranger: good politics random stranger
You: I could rule the US with thoughts like that I guess :p
Stranger: thoughts don’t count when it comes down to it
Stranger: just sell your soul to the most wealthy buyer
You: clever thinking ^^
You: you must be in politics
Stranger: clearly
Stranger: and you must be to leader of an underground radical terrorist group
You: obviously.
You: We call ourselves The Elephant Crushers… That hug.
Stranger: powerfull yet delicate
Stranger: like your political might
You: Yup, we invented the U-Factor. It’s popular.
Stranger: oh
Stranger: i dont know much about US politics i suppose then
Stranger: though i don’t pretend to
You: The Ugly-Factor, it’s for those of the disposable kind that think they will ever make it. Entertainment fo sho.
Stranger: fo sho
Stranger: so ugly peoples should be enslaved
Stranger: it’s a deal
You: I have no knowledge of the US politics either, but who has these days :p
You: I like your thinking ^^ you can be my pet. lol.
Stranger: wait
Stranger: you’re not trying to enslave me are you?
You: Of course not, unless you are ugly?
Stranger: perish the thought
Stranger: i have a wonderfull plumage
You: You can be a valued pet then. Pets are not slaves.
You: They are likeminded.
Stranger: would you like to nickname your new pet?
You: What nickname would you like to have? I suggest R2D2andahalf.
Stranger: not very cuddly for a pet i must say
You: Poochy was taken already.
Stranger: oh darn
Stranger: ok, ill go with R2D2andahalf
You: I hope you have special abusable powers?
Stranger: retractable claws
Stranger: incase the cops get onto me
Stranger: conceal my weapon you know
You: Very good. You can hunt for ugly people then ^^
You: I’ll make you head-uglyhunter.
Stranger: very well then
Stranger: we shall rule with a rod of iron
You: I shall indeed. A polished one.
Stranger: the rod of iron must be polished
Stranger: for justice!
You: And might!
Stranger: and sammiches!
Stranger: oh wait
Stranger: no, not sammiches
Stranger: we shall eat the sammiches!
You: We must! Food is important!
You: Healthy food!
Stranger: 5 a day or you die
You: At least
Stranger: i would like to push for 6 to be honest
You: That’ll be hard, think you can handle it?
Stranger: well i bet i do that already
Stranger: i don’t really count though
Stranger: but i think i’m up to the task
You: A wise decision, i would almost question your belief.
Stranger: the new land has no room for belief
Stranger: only justice and sammiches
You: and prayers to be like me. of course.
You: useless ones.
You: but still.
Stranger: for human betterment
Stranger: with me enforcing your religion what can go wrong
You: nothing, we shall rule the planet and have daily sammichfests
Stranger: how come nobody thought of this before?
Stranger: seems to solve all the worlds problems
You: Because the majority of people is ugly. And the cute ones don’t think, they let people hunt Omegle for scrambled elephants.
Stranger: scrambled elephants
Stranger: makes sense to me
You: That’s why we hug.
Stranger: perfectly so
You: And make this world better.
Stranger: that must be the reason
You: And on that note I shall leave thou, go in peace, and spread the iron justice
Stranger: aww
Stranger: you’re actually leaving?
You: No, I was faking it to see if you would be loyal.
You: You passed the test.
You: Congrats.
Stranger: Oh how i was
You: You earned yourself a complimentary sammich
Stranger: omnomnomnomn
You: Avocado and Cheese. It’s special.
Stranger: interesting
Stranger: very interesting
Stranger: that could be our national dish
You: I think I might approve that thought…
Stranger: you think?
Stranger: dooo it
You: Avocade And Cheese Sammich, the official dish of The Epic Land. confirmed.
Stranger: a wise decision my leige
You: Our anthem is simple… It’s just shouting randomly “DFTBA”.
Stranger: may i ask you
Stranger: what is your star/astro sign?
Stranger: leo?
You: I am a Taurus actually, why are you wondering?
Stranger: i don’t know, you just seem very particular
You: Very particular… That’s a nice way to say ‘odd’
Stranger: well it is more than you would know
Stranger: im just accross the sea
You: The lovely isle of UKtopia?
Stranger: sorry, i have some irish blood though!
Stranger: rawr
You: Destiny. lol.
Stranger: and a little german and a little spanish
Stranger: but lets forget thoses
Stranger: i like the look of belgium
You: We are tiny, but powerful. Like an ant.
Stranger: that big square with the flemish buildings
Stranger: in the new world, we will have flemish buildings
You: Flemish buildings and the english language. A good compromise.
Stranger: and belgian beer perhaps
Stranger: oh and definatly belgian cuisine
You: Of course Belgian Beer, to go with the Avocado and Cheese sammich
Stranger: totally
You: I would say UK cuisine, but… no I wouldn’t.
You: HP Sauce is a must though
Stranger: hmmmm
You: ”Brown Sauce”
Stranger: HP sauce will be allowed
Stranger: no mayonaise though, it’s too french
You: I can live with that.
Stranger: erm by the way, sorry if the conversation suddenly cuts off, my computers being funny
You: No problem It has been fun so far :p
You: It’ll survive ^^
You: If it looses control, hug it. We hug electronics too little these days. Another rule in the law of The Epic Land.
Stranger: lol
Stranger: such a caring leader
Stranger: for all things with blood running through there vains or electricity through there wires
Stranger: you shall be remembered as a wise and just leader
You: That values ‘pretty’ and uses ‘ugly’
Stranger: that’s the Epic way
Stranger: so i think we can draw up the laws and the nitty gritty another day
Stranger: after we have declared war and gained land for ourselves
You: We should, you’re nearing midnight, I’m nearing 1am. I trust the gods will reunite us when needed. lol.
Stranger: oh, well they arnt that trustworthy you know
You: Given that basically I am God, he is.
Stranger: oh well fine then
You: wishful thinking at least
Stranger: well, what is a country without the gods good will
Stranger: africa my friend
Stranger: africa
You: Africa will be the parking spot for those willing to visit our Land.
Stranger: kind of a waste dont you think
Stranger: they have valuable resources

I know, I’ve been bad at updating my blog during my US travel. On the other hand, I’ve been updating my Twitter like crazy so if you want a shitload of random updates of the moment, go check my tweets from the past two weeks.
Right now I’m on the plane from Sacramento to Los Angeles, yes Los Angeles, my last stop on my trip.
After I left Atlanta I flew to Dallas/Fort Worth/Arlington. There I saw cowboys, blowing angels, lots of pretty architecture, and experienced that what Texas has plenty of… Food.
I can’t remember how many food i’ve stuffed in the week I spend in Texas but it was a lot. And I got that food at legendary places like The Hickory Stick, Joe whatshisname(Mexican),… And then one day we decided that I had to experience the Riverwalk, so on Friday we drove down 7 hours to get to San Antonio, where I ate awesome food at Mi Tieras.
In between eating I did other things ofcourse, one of the most fun things being the painting that I made with Stacey. She had drawn a horse, so I decided to make it into a unicorn, with a joint, that flies because he’s eternally stoned, so I added a starry sky, and a green flowerbed repesenting earth. Then Stacey drew a sunflower, which I transformed into an evil sunflowerbirdlike thingie, she drew a lovely alien, I drew it’s accompanying spaceship. We added flames to the unicorn to make it fierce, and in the end put our hands in paint and signed the thing with our handprints. That was an epic night.
Another epic night was when I met up with Michael in San Antonio and we went out for drinks and got pretty drunk on Hurricanes. They were good though
I saw museums, lots of lovely buildings, and at the end of the week I ended up in Austin, where I had starbucks with Torsten and Stephen, before Stephen dropped me off at the airport for my flight to California.
I landed half an hour too late in Sacramento – my first delay on the trip -and then met up with Jess.
Together with her I went to the amazing Target, had Jamba Juice and Panda Express, and we went to San Fransisco where we walked the Golden Gate Bridge. The full length. Twice.
Ugh, so many awesome things have happened so far that I’m totally forgetting to mention a bunch of them, but the most important thing is that I totally love the USA, and I’ve enjoyed myself so much thusfar. I really am so happy that I went on this trip, and I love and adore all the amazing people I’ve met so far, or have spoken to on the phone thanks to my American number, and I am missing each and every one of them already tremendously.
Soon I’ll land in Los Angeles where I’ll meet up with Christian, I can’t wait to see his cute face again
Photos are on my facebook, and full quick updates are on my Twitter.
I’ll be home by the end of the week and that makes me a bit sad… But I’m gonna enjoy my last week here, that’s for sure

O hai!
It’s sundaynight, and I’m tired. It’s been an amazing week so far, and this weekend was to die for.
After roaming around Atlanta the past days and visiting things like the world of coke or the high museum, Carlos, Mike and Sam arrived in Atlanta for what ended up to be a very fun weekend.
Carlos, Mike and I went to the Georgia aquarium, since I had failed in doing so all week, and then went for drinks in a Mexican bar where cellphonereception was unheard of, and we then met up with Sam who had arrived by then.
We went to their hotel and then decided to hit the liquorstore for vodka to start what ended up in a very drunk night.
While Sam remained in the hotel because he didn’t ‘feel’ like going to the club, Mike, Carlos and I went to Blake’s… Where some random guy asked if Carlos and I were newlyweds. Lmao.
Anyway, we then ended up in a 24hr diner with a dj and everything, ate breakfast one way or another, and went back to the hotel around 3-4ish where we met up with Sam again by giving him a much needed pillow
After waking up the next morning – without being hungover fyi! – we went mallshopping. Atlantic station and Lenox were the destinations, though we hit up American Apparel outside Lenox as well. Money was spend, and another day flew by.
For dinner we went to the Hard Rock Cafe… Where they were all dancing to YMCA. Yes, it was doomed to become another fun night. And it was, alcohol in the hotelroom this time without hitting the clubs, we ended up going to bed a bit earlier but we woke up way later this morning
Memorable moments include singing No Scrubs, talking about (the lack of) healthcare, inappropriate things and getting slammed in your chair. The Twitter accounts of me, @imike1411, @likesrobots and @samthereforiam will show you way too many quotes and random moments so feel free to check those out for more detailed randomness
I love people, and it was sad saying goodbye to Carlos, Mike and Sam because I have no idea when I’ll ever see them again… Something that will happen more during my trip. I’m not into that.
I’ve had an amazing trip so far, and I’m loving it! Tuesday I’m off to Dallas/Arlington!

So it’s fridaymorning now, and I’m lying on the floor in my cocoon of blankets while kayce is catching up on blogs and news and stuff
The past days have been amazing so far! I’m loving it!
So I got to Atlanta on Tuesday, after a great flight I met up with kayce and I got my breezecard. That’s the equivalent of an oystercard in London and permits me unlimited use of the Marta train for seven days, which is great because that makes navigating in Atlanta super easy.
Priority on the list after dropping off luggage was getting my American simcard, and yay I have one now (if you want my number, contact me)
Groceryshopping was up next and Americans are such divas! There are soooo many options! And they still don’t find what they want lol
The past few days I strolled around Atlanta while kayce was at school, visiting different places when I felt like it.
I went to The World Of Coke, which was amazing – my tummy hurt a bit after tasting 60 kinds of coke -, piedmont park, which is huge and I got lost in it, centennial park, where I lied down in the grass loving the sun for a few hours resulting in me turning more and more red already – I already had tanlines after a day-, peachtree center -a mall-, and so on…
Atlanta is amazing, let’s just put it that way
Kayce and I are going to the high museum this morning, then we’re going to watch the 3D movie called ‘revenge of the meatballs’ or something like that, and then we’re off to Atlanta station to visit shops. Fun times
The boys are on their way to Atlanta too so I can’t wait to have epic sexytimez with them this weekend
Oh and Christian, who I’m staying with in LA, was at the ATL airport for a connecting flight so I went down there to quikly hug him and he’s adorable
Anyway, I’m having an amazing time and I’m loving every bit of it!
And now I’m going to upload some pictures to facebook, so if you want them find them there
Update you soon!
